Mr Tsui Tsin Tong is chairman of the New China Hong Kong Group, whose shareholders include some of the best known listed Hong Kong companies and 15 large Chinese enterprises. He also chairs several large corporations such as the CNT Group, Citybus, China Paint Company and Citybus UK and holds directorships of over 20 large corporations around the world. He is additionally a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and an advisor on Hong Kong affairs appointed by the State Council of the PRC and a Preliminary Working Committee member of Special Administrative Region Preparatory Committee.
Mr Tsui is one of the world's top five private antique collectors and is a keen promoter of art. He has made donations of antiques to various museums around the world and set up Tsui's Museum, and is chairman of the University Museum and Gallery Management Committee of the University of Hong Kong.
He has sponsored numerous art associations worldwide, such as those of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Chicago School of Art. In the field of charity work, Mr Tsui is an active participant, particularly with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and the Community Chest and he is additionally an enthusiastic supporter of sports in Asia, serving as an officer on the committees of many sporting organisations. He was made a Justice of the Peace in 1992.
In recognition of his contributions, the University has resolved to confer upon him the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa.
