Dr Keith Leonard Charles Legg has been Director of the Hong Kong Polytechnic since 1975. For three years prior to this, he had been Director of the Lanchester Polytechnic in the United Kingdom and had earlier held the office of Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the Loughborough University of Technology where he had been Professor since 1960.
He is Chairman of the Hong Kong branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Environmental Protection Advisory Committee, the Hong Kong Management Association, as well as the Board of Education.
He has already been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Technology from the Loughborough University of Technology and received the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1981.
In recognition of his contribution, the University has resolved to confer upon him the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa.
