Dear Colleagues,

HKU is very fortunate to have staff members whose many years of dedication, commitment and loyalty to the University have earned our respect.

There are total of 273 colleagues receiving the 15, 25, 35, 40, or 45 years’ Long Service Award this year. You will likely find some of your colleagues and friends on the list of awardees and I’m sure you’ll want to congratulate them on this happy occasion.

In light of the latest COVID-19 situation in Hong Kong and in accordance with recommendations on social distancing and group gatherings, the format of the Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony has been revised and we very much regret that it will not be possible to invite all colleagues to celebrate with the awardees in Loke Yew Hall as has been the case in previous years.

But where there’s a will, there’s a way. Like so many of us have been doing during these challenging times, we’re taking advantage of technology to bring colleagues and friends together to celebrate our awardees’ achievements.

Additionally, physical photo backdrops will be set up from June 13 to June 26 at the Sun Yat-sen Steps and the entrance of Loke Yew Hall, to further facilitate taking photos on campus.
