The Laboratory of Biomedical Imaging and Signal Processing (BISP Lab) is a joint interdisciplinary laboratory between Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. June 7, 2018 - Five members of BISP Lab have received 6 merit awards at the 2018 Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB in Paris, France, including 4 Summa Cum Laude Awards (RW Chan, ATL Leong and CM Dong) and 2 Magna Cum Laude Awards.

April 20, 2018 - Dr. Russlle Chan, a member of BISP Lab (PhD student: 2011-2015, Postdoc: 2015-2017), has been selected as a Junior Fellow of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). This prestigious award is conferred through a process that includes rigorous review of academic achievement. The ISMRM Junior Fellow Program has been established to recognize outstanding researchers at an early stage in their careers, with an established and long-term commitment to ISMRM.

January 2, 2018 - Dr. Russlle Chan and Dr. Alex Leong's work was reported as one of the Biggest Science News Stories of 2017 by Technology Networks.

December 14, 2017 - "The hippocampus is the beating heart of the brain", the work of two members of BISP Lab, Dr. Russlle Chan and Dr. Alex Leong, was reported as one of the Top 10 Neuroscience News Stories of 2017 by Technology Networks.

October 26, 2017 - An insight article titled Functional MRI: Making connections in the brain has been published on eLife. Insight articles are related to original research papers in eLife and explain why the results reported in the paper are significant in a given field of research, which are commissioned by eLife staff.

August 15, 2017 - An article titled Low-frequency hippocampal-cortical activity drives brain-wide resting-state functional MRI connectivity has been published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).

April 26, 2017 - Mr. Alex Tze Lun Leong, a PhD student of the BISP Lab has received 1st Place OCSMRM Young Investigator Award for "AT Leong, RW Chan, PP Gao, YS Chan, KK Tsia, WH Yung, EX Wu: Long-range projections coordinate distributed brain-wide neural activity with a specific spatiotemporal profile".

April 22, 2017 - Five members of BISP Lab have received merit awards at the 2017 Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB in Honolulu, USA, including 3 Summa Cum Laude Awards (Y Liu, M Lyu and Y Qiu) and 2 Magna Cum Laude Awards (CM Dong and AT Leong).

May 16, 2014 - Four members of BISP Lab have received merit awards at the 2014 Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB in Milan, Italy, including Young Investigator Finalist (P Cao), Power Poster Presentation & Summa Cum Laude (IY Zhou) and Magna Cum Laude (X Liu and PP Gao).

January 1, 2014 - Professor Ed X. Wu has been elevated to Fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his contributions to “in vivo magnetic resonance imaging methods”.

April 30, 2013 - Professor Ed X. Wu has received Lam Woo Endowed Professorship in Biomedical Engineering.

April 26, 2013 - Professor Ed X. Wu has been elected to Fellow of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) for his significant contributions to MRI diffusion and spectroscopy method development.

April 25, 2013 - Twelve members of BISP Lab have received Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude Awards for their published research papers at the 2013 ISMRM Annual Meeting.
